we are on the same page about disney movies. i love them too! though i have not seen "up" - so many of their movies have a deep wisdom and idea designed for adults. take "nemo" - my favorite classics - never give up lesson... i think kids do not see a big pictures as we do. anyway wanted to join the club of "disney movies lovers"

Jerry,

THanks for sharing that personal post...it's amazing how the quite and nature of a cross country drive bring these things out in us.

Congrats to Sondra's folks on their 50th anniversary. My folks celebrated theirs in 2005 and it was then that I realized we make photographs for now, but we also make them for 50 years from now when people can look back and really remember what it was like.

Travel safe..pg

Jerry - about three years ago a great friend of mine was next to me when my mom called. He had just recently loss his mom. When I hung up, he could see I was frustrated over the conversation of something trivial now that I think of it. My mom is still with us though I will never forget what my friend said and MAYBE I escaped a lot of the guilt that he and you had felt... he said, "Kevin, while it might seem like a pain to go take some grocery's to your mom now, when she does pass, you will trade every moment of working, goofing off etc for that one moment when you can take her the grocery's. Believe when I say this because it is exactly how I feel now."

I never will forget these comments and many times when mom calls and seems to be interrupting I attempt to think of words... I quietly stop doing everything and put all my attention on my mom and what she is saying.

Good post - thanks for sharing
Kevin

Very inspiring, Jer. I agree that we should find happiness in the journey rather than the destination. Too many people think they'll be happy in the future when they get this or that, and they don't make a big enough effort to be happy in the now, so miss out on a lot of joy.

Jerry,
Thanks for sharing and so sorry to hear about your Mom. It's so difficult watching that change -- I know my Dad suffered a stroke and my Mom especially dealt with many of the issues you're seeing.

BTW, I thought the program at WPPI was fantastic...it was the best thing I got from the program (plus having lunch with you, Sondra and the crew was also pretty great).

Paul

Gee Jerry, Sounds like my life. I got a nasty cold in Vegas too. I have just now finished rebuilding the Bathroom and closet after all the damage from frozen pipes bursting. Now all that is left is the floor that needs to be replaced. SO I had better get back to work!!

Jerry, I'm happy to see a new post from you, and happy to hear today is better after the troubles you've been experiencing (which sounds like a lot, by the way!) This has been one of "those" weeks for me, but you're right, we can't let life's curve balls get us down! Thanks for a post about... ya know... real life.

Thank you for your blog today. It reminds me that You are human and not super human (I know I didn't mean to bust your bubble)! It reminds me to be patient, take one step at a time and pay attention. When you rush or push yourself through the door before it's time you miss important information that could be telling you that you are going through the wrong door altogether. Sometimes I think stuff being tossed at us is the universe telling us to slow down a bit and choose a different sequence in our priorities to find the "right" door...just like we ask our clients permission to ask questions to give them the "right" information...we need to stop a second and ask questions of ourselves. Thanks for what you do and I think it's awesome you liked my wedding piece! My big YES for the week. kv
